Payroll rebate
attracts sales jobs
CBC Radio, July 14, 2004
HALIFAX - A Boston
company that provides translation services to the medical industry is
being lured to Nova Scotia through government subsidies.
The provincial government is offering ForeignExchange Translations a
$400,000 payroll rebate. Over the next three years, the company says
it will hire 60 workers in Nova Scotia.
ForeignExchange offers translation services in 32 languages to medical
device manufacturers and pharmaceutical companies. The jobs in the Dartmouth
office will be in marketing, publishing and sales.
The company says it chose to expand its operations to Nova Scotia because
it's close to its Boston headquarters.
Marli MacNeil, chief executive officer of BioNova, a lobby and marketing
group that helps bio-science companies promote themselves, says that
means more services for Nova Scotia companies.
