Diversity Marketing

In the last five years, advertisers and companies have begun to incorporate diversity marketing into their overall marketing plans. As companies target their marketing budgets at various ethnic groups, they need a level of translation and cross-cultural awareness to make a significant impact (and avoid significant mistakes).

For example, a client may not be aware of the many variations of Spanish in use across the United States. Much depends on what part of the country you're targeting, i.e. Miami vs. Los Angeles. Use Mexican Spanish with a Miami audience and you might as well be using French.

In addition to providing linguistic services, ForeignExchange can assist in your multicultural marketing efforts by providing market analysis and testing, ethnic marketing campaigns and ongoing training and support.

Multicultural Projects Include:

  • marketing materials
  • promotional videos and voiceovers
  • news letters
  • press releases
Legal Translation Services

ForeignExchange provides ISO 9001:2008 certified services to law firms who cannot afford mistakes. Typical scenarios include:

  • discovery materials
  • requests for proposal
  • contracts and agreements
  • investment updates
  • mergers and acquisitions documentation

We only work with translators with extensive legal translation experience and we deliver work on budget and on time.

Industry FAQ

Do you provide a certificate of translation accuracy?
Upon request we would be happy to provide such a statement. We are also happy to provide auditable nonconformance reports of your projects at any time. But keep in mind that there is no regulatory body for translation agencies; therefore, we have taken the lead in regulating ourselves and our translators. No other translation company makes such a strict commitment to quality.

How can we measure the quality of our current translations?
The best way is to hire an outside party to conduct a quality audit. The process is simple and affordable and will provide true peace of mind.

Where does ForeignExchange find its translators?
ForeignExchange supports 36 languages, including all major European, Asian and Middle Eastern languages. Translation is typically done in each individual target country, i.e. German texts are translated in Germany and Japanese ones in Japan. Furthermore, all of our translators are Compliance Translation Certified™. This demanding certification was developed by ForeignExchange to provide our clients with linguists who are subject-matter experts.

Can ForeignExchange adjust its translations to various target audiences?
Yes, we can. In general, financial and legal documents have three kinds of audiences:

  • technical audience - Certain documents -- including the fine print in reports and prospectuses -- are intended for members of the business community, regulatory bodies, professional investors, lawyers, etc. Clearly, in these cases, technical accuracy takes precedence over "reaching the masses" with an easy-to-understand message, because the concepts are so complex.
  • marketing audience - Marketing materials and sales documents fall into this second category. While having to be technically accurate for compliance reasons, these pieces must first and foremost communicate in a language that has a strong marketing appeal to the intended reader.
  • basic audience - The audience for many training and introductory materials may require a more basic or explanatory style that an "average" reader will comprehend.

We're located on the West Coast. Is that going to be a problem in terms of work flow?
Not at all. Many of our clients are located in California, and throughout the United States. While distance is certainly a factor, it should not outweigh other factors such as the need for quality, service and fast turnaround.
